LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. – The City of Lawrenceburg and the Parks and Rec Department are proud to announce that Rotary Park has been chosen as one of the first three sites for 2022 BlueCross Healthy Place projects.
“We were thrilled to find out the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation selected us as one of the three project sites,” said Pam Hyde, director of Lawrenceburg Parks and Rec. “We strive to make our parks safe and welcoming to all of our citizens and visitors, and it’s exciting to be partnering with BlueCross BlueShield and receiving funding to help us in our goal of creating fun family spaces.”
Grant funded by the BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Foundation, the project will replace the playground at Rotary Park with the following:
Creating spaces for connection and healthy activity for visitors of all abilities, the BlueCross Healthy Places are free and open to the public. The other two project sites are located in Middleton and Red Boiling Springs. Collectively, the three projects represent a $3.1 million investment from the foundation, and in addition to construction dollars, each project also has a maintenance fund to assist with ongoing care and upkeep of the space.
“This is a huge accomplishment for our Parks and Rec Department and for the City as a whole,” said Lawrenceburg Mayor Blake Lay. “Pam Hyde worked many hours on the grant application. Her dedication to Lawrenceburg is to be commended, and now Rotary Park will have a wonderful new space for families to enjoy time together.”
