Message From The Mayor
Welcome to the City of Lawrenceburg's website. We invite everyone to learn about the City of Lawrenceburg through this media. And we extend an invitation to all those viewers that have not visited our fair city to visit us soon.
Lawrenceburg's population is approximately 14,000. Our city is mixed with small-town friendliness and big city bustle. Lawrenceburg is a very neighborly community where citizens and officials work together for continuous growth and prosperity.
We have a strong industrially based economy with abundant service and commercial businesses. Our local Main Street Organization (National Organization) has worked very hard to keep our downtown vibrant and thriving. Our many Civic Organizations contribute the seasoning for the successful blend of business and industry in the City of Lawrenceburg.
Our square is alive and well with shopping, banking, antique shops, tourist attractions (David Crockett Statue & Mexican War Monument) with an occasional street fair and fun for all. Lawrenceburg is the birthplace of Southern Gospel Music and we have recently opened the Vaughan Gospel Music Museum on the square. There are other tourist attractions within walking distance of the square, one being the Old Jail Museum which is on the National Register of Historical Buildings. Lawrenceburg also sports a State Park within our city limits. The David Crockett State Park offers:
- A fine restaurant that often hosts dinner theaters
Our Art Deco designed Crockett Theater plays host to many local and national talents. It has hosted many cultural events, with the performers acclaiming their delight after performing in this remarkable acoustically designed theater.
