The Lawrenceburg Fire Department provides CPR training using Red Cross curriculum. All City firefighters are EMT (Emergency Medical Training) Certified. This enables them to provide initial emergency medical care at the scene of a fire or accident. Many also have training and certification to teach First Aid/CPR courses.
Participants in these courses learn how to give CPR in case a victim's heart or breathing stops. The Fire Department has equipment, including dummies, which allows hands-on instruction. Students also learn how to control bleeding and apply bandages, plus proper handling of patients.
