|The Mayor and Board of Commissioners met
in regular session on August 1, 2002. The following members were
present: Commissioner Robert Pulley, Commissioner Bid Lindsey,
Commissioner Buford Goolsby, and Mayor Blake Lay. Commissioner Chris
Gowen was absent.
With a quorum present, the meeting was called to order.
The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
A motion was made by Commissioner Pulley to approve the minutes of the July 18, 2002 meeting; with a second by Commissioner Goolsby, motion passed.
Mayor Lay informed the Commission that Commissioner Gowen is recovering from surgery, and Attorney Betz is on vacation. Mayor Lay also mentioned the fact that today is Election Day, and also mentioned the Tractor Show coming up later this month.
City Administrator David Huseman mentioned the auction to be held on August 17. The city will be selling the properties on Jackson Street and Remke Avenue, purchased for the Flood Control Project. The successful bidder will negotiate with the house movers on the removal of the houses to their property.
He also informed the Commission of the changes in Rotary Park at the ticket booth and surrounding area.
Commissioner Pulley also reminded everyone of David Crockett Days scheduled for August 9-11 at David Crockett Park.
With no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey to adjourn, with a second by Commissioner Goolsby. Meeting adjourned.
