|A motion was made by Commissioner Gowen to
approve the minutes of the April 18, 2002 meeting; with a second by
Commissioner Pulley, the motion passed.
Mayor Lay announced the he had been in Washington, DC this week and met with our Senators and Congressmen. He has asked their help in our Flood Prevention Program and they will be working with Joe Baxter to assist us with that program.
Also, our adopted school Ingram Sowell has been awarded the education grant they asked our help on.
This is National Police Officers week. A time set aside to honor those who protect us, and memorialize those that have fallen in the line of duty. This year there is a special remembrance of those that lost their lives during the September 11, terrorist attack in New York.
A Public Hearing was opened to hear comments on Ordinance # 952 – to rezone property owned by Bert Spearman on Robins. With no one wishing to address the Commission on Ordinance # 952 the public hearing closed.
Attorney Betz presented 1 ordinance and 1 resolution to the Commission.
Ordinance #952 – To amend Ordinance #789 entitled the “Zoning Ordinance of the City of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. To rezone property owned by Bert Spearman on Robins Street from R-2 to C-5. Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed unanimously.
Resolution # 2002-16-5 – To re-appoint Freda Baggett. Sara Bowden, Joe Fisher, Sam Bowman, Max Hartsfield, Commissioner Chris Gowen and City Administrator David Huseman, to the Lawrenceburg Cable Board. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Goolsby, with a second by Commissioner Lindsey. Motion passed unanimously.
With no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Commissioner Pulley to adjourn, with a second by Commissioner Gowen.
