|A motion was made by Commissioner Gowen to
approve the minutes of the December 20, 2001 meeting; with a second by
Commissioner Goolsby, the motion passed.
Mayor Lay complimented the Sanitation Department and the County Waste Collection System for a good job handling the citizens Christmas and New Year refuse.
Mayor Lay also complimented our Street Sweeper Operator for his efforts in keeping our city clean.
Attorney Charlie Holt sat in for Attorney Alan Betz and had two resolutions and two ordinances to present for approval.
01-03-1A A Resolution to enter into a contract with Signet Network systems to review all City of Lawrenceburg telecommunication systems and ensure system fit and appropriate billing. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Lindsey. Motion passed unanimously.
01-03-1B A Resolution for the City of Lawrenceburg to waive the building permit fee for Assurance Packaging. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed unanimously.
Ordinance # 948 - To rezone property owned by Steve Saliba located on North Military Avenue to allow for uniformity of zoning on the property. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Goolsby. Motion passed unanimously.
Ordinance # 949 - To rezone property owned by West Gaines Street Church of Christ to allow for uniform building setbacks on the property. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed unanimously.
City Administrator David Huseman announced a public hearing on the above rezoning proposals would be held January 17, during the Commission Meeting.
Mr. Huseman informed the Commission and citizens of the threat of inclement weather and asked citizens, that should we get the predicted snow, to please stay in unless necessary to go out. He also asked citizens to please park vehicles off the streets, so that the street clearing equipment would be more effective.
Mayor Lay also announced some good news about Murray Inc. They are expecting to have 75 to 100 new hires in the very near future. We are very excited when we can help local industries expand.
Mayor Lay also expects to have an update on our utility upgrades within the next few weeks. Mr. Cato and Mr. Huffer will make a presentation. With no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey to adjourn, with a second by Commissioner Gowen.
