Commission Meeting Minutes
City Of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee
October 18, 2001

A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey to approve the minutes of the October 3, 2001 meeting; with a second by Commissioner Pulley, the motion passed.

Mayor Lay announced there was a good turn out for the Public Hearing on the widening of Highway 43. The state will start acquiring property next year. This will help with our drainage problems and our stop light situation. Also, the Lawrence County E.O. Coffman Wildcats are 7 and 0 for the season and play in a bowl game Saturday everyone is invited to support the team.

The Chamber of Commerce banquet will be held tonight, Ms. Cope has advised everyone on the dress code.

Director of Recreation, Beth Campbell announced the second annual Halloween Party and Haunted Playground at Rotary Park for our young people this Halloween. The Interact Club is helping sponsor this activity along with local businesses.

Director of Streets and Sanitation, Buddy Howell informed the Commission and the citizens that we are now into leaf season and asked everyone to refrain from placing leaves in the gutters. The Street Department provides leaf bags for our citizens, and everyone is invited to go to the Street Department and pick them up.

Attorney Alan Betz had 7 resolutions to present for approval.

01-18-10A A Resolution to enter into an agreement with the American Legion. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Lindsey. Motion passed unanimously.

01-18-10B A Resolution to enter into an agreement with South Central Human Resource Agency. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed unanimously.

01-18-10C A Resolution to appoint David Huseman as acting City Recorder. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed unanimously.

01-18-10D A Resolution to authorize the addition of David Huseman as signatory on specified bank accounts for the City of Lawrenceburg. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed unanimously.

01-18-10E - A Resolution to accept the bid from CMI Equipment Sales, Inc. for the purchase of Street Sweeper to be funded through Series A Bond Funds, in the amount of $114,400.00. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed unanimously.

01-18-10F - A Resolution to submit an application to the Tennessee Department of Economic and community Development for community Development Block Grant Funds for the City of Lawrenceburg, for rehabilitation of the sewer system. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed unanimously.

01-18-10G - A Resolution to accept a bid for re-roofing the City Administration Building to Evers Construction Company in the amount of $119,997.00, using Series A Bond Fund, utilizing the local preference. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed unanimously.

City Administrator Huseman explained the blue page in the Commissioner's packets. The blue sheets will contain fun projects and information concerning happenings in the City of Lawrenceburg. He also pointed out that the Police Department received a letter of gratitude from a lady in Rogersville, Alabama. She was here with her children and some of their friends attending the fair. Upon leaving the fair around 10:30 p.m. Police Officers White and Bedingfield indicated to her that she had a flat tire and proceeded to change it for her and explained to her what to do should she have any further trouble with her spare on her way home.

With no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey to adjourn, with a second by Commissioner Gowen.
