Commissioner Pulley to approve the minutes of the August 30, 2001
meeting; with a second by Commissioner Lindsey, the motion passed.
Mayor Lay read a letter of thanks from the Tractor Club signed by Tim Pettus and Russell Counce. This letter praised the city employees and everyone involved that helped make the show a success.
Mayor Lay thanked County Executive Steve Hill and the County Commissioners for their 16-0 vote to donate land for the city's new fire station on West Point Road.
Attorney Alan Betz had one ordinance and three resolutions for consideration:
#947 - To fix the time and place at which the regular meetings of the Board of Mayor and Commissioners shall be held. The meeting shall be held on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Lawrenceburg City Administration Building Commission Meeting Room at 10:00 a.m. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
01-06-9A - To waive the building permit fee for the Lawrenceburg Power System. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion approved.
01-01-9B - To accept the bid from Kile International Trucks, Inc. as an approved vendor for the State of Tennessee, for the purchase of a 2002 Diamond Spec SBA 6X4 (SF637) dump truck, in the amount of $68,900.00, using Series A Bond proceeds. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
01-06-9C - To apply for Disaster Recover Initiative provided by Housing and Urban Development and Hazard Mitigation Grant Program Funds. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Gowen.
Chief Shay announced that Mr. Rex Barton of MTAS spent Tuesday and Wednesday with the Police Department and is doing a study of the department. Should have results within the next month or so.
With no further business to come before the meeting a motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
