|Upon a motion by
Commissioner Beard with a correction in the minutes to reflect that
Mimosa Cemetery clean up was Friday and Saturday of last week, and a
second by Commissioner Gowen, the minutes of the May 10, 2001 meeting
Mayor Lay read a letter of thanks from the Main Street Board for the City of Lawrenceburg's participation in the preparation for last weekend's Vaughn Music Festival.
Mayor Lay also announced that the building the City of Lawrenceburg was negotiating for the Utilities Department would not be purchased for that purpose. One of our new industries need to expand and we will relinquish to them. Their expansion will add some 20 to 25 new job opportunities for our citizens.
Commissioner Beard announced the Mimosa Cemetery clean up went well. We have been doing this for three years and the Cemetery is getting into good shape. The clean up went much faster than expected, and he thanked all the volunteers for their assistance.
Attorney Betz presented two ordinance and three resolutions for consideration:
# 938 - To amend section 18, Chapter 3 of the Lawrenceburg Municipal code entitled "Regulation of Sewer Use" and to amend Ordinance # 776 and #851, repeal of conflicting ordinances. Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Pulley. Motion passed. #939 - To amend Zoning Ordinance of the City of Lawrenceburg, by deleting Section 3.120 in Article III in its entirety and replaced with a new Section 3.120 Article III. Motion to approve on first reading was made by Commissioner Beard, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed.
Attorney Betz announced a Public Hearing on Ordinance # 939 for June 7th at 10:00 A.M.
RESOLUTION(S) 01-17-5A - To waive the building permit fee for Habitat for Humanity. Motion to approve made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
01-17-5B - To approve purchase of two Chevrolet 2001 trucks in the amount of $29,520.00 from Heritage Chevrolet, using 2001 Series B Bond proceeds. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed.
01-17-5C - To enter into an agreement with Lawrenceburg Power System to purchase soccer field lights for two soccer fields at Bobby Brewer Park in the amount of $131,115.00. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Pulley, with a second by Commissioner Beard. Motion passed with Commissioner Lindsey voting no. Secretary/Treasurer Tom Head announced sales tax is up over the same month last year.
Elmer Cook addressed the Commission.
Mayor Lay asked Mr. Cook to place his questions in writing and they would be answered. With no further business to come before the board a motion was made by Commissioner Beard, with a second by Commissioner Pulley to adjourn. Motion passed, meeting adjourned.
