Minutes of the December 21, 2000 meeting were approved with a motion by
Commissioner Beard and a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed
Mayor Lay announced the swearing in ceremonies of Doug Jackson and John White on January 9th, at 12:00 noon in the Legislative Plaza in Nashville. Everyone is invited to attend. Commissioner Lindsey praised the Lawrenceburg Hazardous Materials Team for their response and expertise in the handling of a propane spill in the Marcella Falls section of Lawrence County on the 26th of December. They evacuated a one-half mile area around the leaking flammable gas tanker truck and successfully neutralized a potentially explosive situation.
Commissioner Gowen announced that Springer Road is open, and will be paved this spring. A 4-way stop has been installed at the intersection of Springer Road and Crews Street.
City Attorney Alan Betz presented 2 ordinances and 2 resolutions for adoption.
# 934 to amend Ordinance #789 entitled "Zoning Ordinance" of the City of Lawrenceburg - to rezone a portion of West Taylor Street from R-3 to C-1. Motion to approve on second reading was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
A Public Hearing will be held next Thursday, January 11 on the above rezoning ordinance, at 10:00 a.m.
#935 to remove certain lands currently owned by Ronald R. Riggs and wife Alia B. Riggs from the corporate limits of the City of Lawrenceburg located in the East section of said city. Motion to approve on second reading was made by Commissioner Lindsey with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
RESOLUTIONS 1. To re-appoint Mark Tietgens, Kenny Beavers and Joe Stanford to the Industrial Development Board. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Lindsey, with a second by Commissioner Pulley. Motion passed.
2. To charge off bad debts for the month of November, 2000 in the amount of $4,339.86. Motion to approve was made by Commissioner Gowen, with a second by Commissioner Lindsey. Motion passed.
Consultant Don Howell announced a meeting of the Public Building Authority for next Thursday, January 11 to move forward on the Bond Refinancing and Capital Funding for the City of Lawrenceburg and Lawrenceburg Power System.
With no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Commissioner Pulley to adjourn, with a second by Commissioner Gowen. Motion passed.
